Handwara : Art is a form of creativity and expression, something Syed Mursaleen enjoys immersing himself in. A young sketch artist from Handwara area of North Kashmir believes art is and will be his first and last priority.
At the age of 8, Syed a resident of north Kashmir’s Handwara village started sketching and his attempt to draw at that young age helped him to follow his passion.
In an interview with Kashmir Despatch, Syed Mursaleen said that he started practicing art at a very tender age, and after the completion of 12th standard examination, he decided to take up art as his passion, a process very well supported by his family.
“While following the passion, it gave me a broader understanding of art in its true form and once I started working, real-life experience and the beautiful nature around me captivated my interest to make my career in this field and slowly slowly people around me started appreciating my work which not only boosted my confidence level but made me strong also to touch next level,” Syed added.
Syed Mursaleen said that he always wanted to communicate through art.
“Mostly, I do paintings in Surrealism, Abstract, Expressionism, Minimalism, Conceptual and Contemporary styles of art. Moreover, I do Product Designing, Graphics, Animations, Calligraphy, Portraits, Murals, Drawings, Set- Designing and Commissioned works,” he added.
Mursaleen said that he has worked in many National Art camps and workshops from which he got inspired and also participated in International art competitions.
“As an artist, I always want to express true scenarios in my own language of art.” Syed said.
Syed Mursaleen said that government should provide assistance to the artists so that they can earn as well as revive the Kashmir culture at an international level.
