Jammu: As a result of the continuous efforts of the Business Development Unit (BDU) of Jammu Division and positive media cooperation, local industries of the region are now increasingly getting attracted towards rail freight transportation. In this sequence, Jammu Division has achieved another significant success. *M/s Uma Cement (Brij Cement)*, based at Udhampur, has today, on 21st September, registered an indent for loading *1 BCN wagon* of cement from *Shaheed Captain Tushar Mahajan (Udhampur) station* to *Anantnag Goods Shed*, the loading of which is proposed on 22 September.
It is noteworthy that earlier, Jammu Division had successfully captured the traffic of Ganpati Cement from Kathua, under which 3 wagons have been loaded so far. Apart from this, inward traffic of rice from the Kashmir Valley has also been captured, in which 8 wagons have been operated till now. The joining of local brands like Uma Cement (Brij Cement) and Ganpati Cement with the Railways will not only increase the freight revenue of Jammu Division but will also bring diversity to the basket of commodities transported.
On this achievement, *Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Jammu*, said, _“The Business Development Unit of Jammu Division is reaching out to local traders and industries to make them aware about the economical, safe and timely freight services of the Railways. The joining of Uma Cement (Brij Cement) is proof of the success of our efforts. Our aim is to connect even the smallest traders with the Railways and provide them with better logistic solutions.”_
