Coronavirus : Isolation ward set up in Watergam

Baramulla : To meet any threat of Coronavirus (COVID-19) which has claimed thousands of lives across the globe, the administration in Baramulla has set up an isolation ward at Watergam area of northern region of Kashmir on Saturday.

An official told Kashmir Despatch with an aim to effectively fight the spread of coronavirus, an isolation ward has been set up at Trauma hospital in Watergam on the directions of District Magistrate Baramulla.

Deputy Commissioner Baramulla Dr G.N Itoo earlier this day in a chat with Kashmir Despatch appealed Baramullians to stay indoors as much as possible to avoid getting infected by Coronavirus.

Dr Itoo also ordered a complete lockdown tomorrow in Baramulla town.

Pertinently, The World Health Organisation has declared the outbreak COVID-19 as a global epidemic, however, in order to ensure the safety of citizens the government has taken various measures regarding sanitization and the medical facilities on the ground.
