COVID-19: 11 patients die, 878 test positive in J&K

Total cases 79,106, Death toll reaches 1,242; 1,053 more recover in UT

Srinagar, Oct 04 : Jammu and Kashmir Sunday recorded 11 deaths due to dreaded virus taking the death toll to 1242 while as 878 fresh positive cases pushed the total Covid tally up to 79106 in the Union Territory.

Of the total 79,106cases, 47,493 are from Kashmir and 31,613from Jammu division. Officials told that among 878 new cases, 422 belong to Kashmir division while as 456 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 47,493 including 39,983 recoveries and 860 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 31,613 including 22,421 recoveries and 382 deaths.

The officials said that total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 15,460 including 6,650 from Kashmir division and 8,810 from Jammu division.

With 1,053 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 62,404 which is 78.88 percent of the total cases.

“Cases tested positive in J&K include 156 from Srinagar, 53 from Budgam, 52 from Baramulla, 17 from Pulwama, 12 from Kupwara, 30 from Anantnag, 54 from Bandipora, 33 from Ganderbal, 06 from Kulgam and 09 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 456 from Jammu division include 252 from Jammu, 35 from Rajouri, 27 from Udhampur, 14 from Doda, 21 from Kuthua, 17 from Poonch, 22 from Samba, 08 from Ramban, 49 from Kishtiwar, and 11 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.

Notably, in the last 24 hours, 11 persons who were tested positive for COVID-19 have died which include five from Kashmir division and six from Jammu division.

As per media bulletin, patients who have died include two from Srinagar and one each from Budgam, Anantnag and Bandipora in Kashmir division while as six from Jammu division include three from Jammu district and one each Rajouri, Udhampur and Kuthua.

As per officials figures, 15,533 positive cases including 301 deaths and 13,324 recoveries are from Srinagar, 5,075 including 87 deaths and 4,182 recoveries are from Budgam, 4,575 including 3,173 recoveries and 124 deaths are from Baramulla, 4,052 including 3,591 recoveries and 70 deaths are from Pulwama, 3,729 including 68 deaths and 3,073 recoveries are from Kupwara, 3,624 including 3,073 recoveries and 67 deaths are from Anantnag, 3,568 cases including 3,080 and 39 deaths are from Bandipora, 2,990 including 2,674 recoveries and 29 deaths are from Ganderbal, 2,297 including 2,141 recoveries and 43 deaths are from Kulgam and 2,050 including 1,858 recoveries and 32 deaths are from Shopian.

In Jammu division, 14,514 including 10,777 recoveries and 203 deaths are from Jammu district, 2,789 including 1,978 recoveries and 36 deaths are from Rajouri, 2,369 including 1,887 recoveries and 21 deaths are from Udhampur, 2,285 including 1,346 recoveries and 33 deaths are from Doda, 2,140 including 1,781 recoveries and 26 deaths are from Kuthua, 1,859 including 928 recoveries and 16 deaths are from Poonch, 1,854 including 1,135 recoveries and 22 deaths are from Samba, 1,396 including 1,153 recoveries and 10 deaths are from Ramban, 1,373 including 736 recoveries and 09 deaths are from Kishtiwar and 1,034 including 700 recoveries and 06 deaths are from Kishtwar.

As per the daily information bulletin, 591,771 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 22,258 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 15,460 persons are in isolation.

According to the bulletin, 504,510 persons have completed surveillance period and 48,301 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 1,707,503 samples are available.

Out of 1,707,503 the number of samples tested negative stands at 1,628,397 while 79,106 have tested positive, among them 15,460 are active, 62,404 persons have recovered and 1,242 persons have died.
