Bandipora 09 April : As COVID-19 is rapidly making it’s mark across the valley with the irresponsible behaviour and madness of people who not only putting their lives at risk but affecting communities as a whole.
Yet another fresh incident reported in which people tried to defy government orders, advisories and COVID-19 procedural protocol and tried to gather for Shab-e-Barat congregation prayers Wednesday night in Sumbal area of North Kashmir’s Bandipora district.
A police officer told Kashmir Despatch, Acting strictly against persons violating lockdown and prohibitory orders in the district , Bandipora police on Wednesday Evening arrested Two dozen persons, who had gathered for congretional prayers in Nesbal Sumbal in violation of prohibitory orders issued by district Adminstration Bandipora.
Officer said Police after getting information about the religious gathering being organised against prohibitory orders requested the people to disperse peacefully but some people resorted to unprovoked stone pelting.
A case under relevant sections of law has been registered in PS Sumbal and further investigation initiated.
Meanwhile in a statement issued to Kashmir Despatch Bandipora police appealed general public to stay indoors and don’t come out of their homes unnecessarily otherwise strict legal action will be taken against people who risk the lives of others by violating restriction orders besides cooperate with the Police & civil administration by ensuring adherence to restrictions imposed.
