Baramulla, April 14: Continuing its efforts towards the containment of COVID-19 spread, Deputy Commissioner Baramulla Dr G N Itoo accompanied by SSP Baramulla Ab Qayoom today inspects various quarantine centres established in Tangmarg area to take the appraisal of various anti-corana activities undertaken to control the spread of the virus.
On the occasion, DC took a thorough reviews of such activities wherein he stressed to accelerate action for combating the spread of the infection. He also directs to mobilize the available resources in this regard.
While enlisting various initiatives taken by the administration, DC said that various medical teams have been constituted who will collect the samples of all suspected persons at their door steps in all the declared red zones. He said that administration is working day in and day out in this regard besides appealing people to cooperate at this critical juncture.
Later, the DC chaired a meeting with the concerned officers at COVID-19 control room Tangmarg in order to review the stock and supply position of various essential commodities in view of forthcoming holy Ramadhan.
On the occasion, a comprehensive discussion on the subject was held wherein DC emphasized to ensure the home delivery of all the commodities especially in the declared red zones keeping in view all the related health advisories.
Earlier, the DC inspects various vegetable sale outlets in Old Town Baramulla to take stock of the situation in the wake of prevailing circumstances. DC directed them to implement all the health advisories especially maintaining social distance at their outlets. He also exhorted to ensure that qualitative items are sold at the appropriate rates besides warning them that strict legal action shall be taken against erring traders.
