COVID-19 Alert: DC B’la Inspects Several Locations, Reviews Implementation of Advisories

Dr Itoo Chairs Meeting with Civil Society Members, Sought their Cooperation

Baramulla, March 31: With a view to ensure the strict compliance of all relevant advisories pertaining to pandemic COVID-19, Deputy Commissioner Baramulla Dr G N Itoo today inspects several locations of the district viz Sopore, Rafiabad ,old town Baramulla and other several areas to review the implementation of the said advisories especially observing lockdown and maintaining social distancing. DC conducted the inspection following the complaints, that were received from such areas regarding the violation of prescribed guidelines.

On the occasion, DC took an appraisal of the situation wherein he strictly directed to implement all the requisite advisories and avoid any gathering so that the risk is mitigated.

Meanwhile, DC inspected the separate OPD section of Sub-district hospital Sopore where he took stock of various medicare facilities. DC directed the concerned authorities to provide the health services keeping in view all the prescribed norms and regulations with respect to Coronavirus outbreak. He also inspects some medical shops and emphasized upon them to keep masks and sanitizers at optimum prices besides directing to avoid any kind of gatherings at their centres.

Later, the DC convened a meeting of civil society members and other prominent stakeholders of the society to discuss various measures for the prevention of COVID-19.

On the occasion, DC exhorted upon them to play a proactive role in their respective areas by monitoring all such activities having adverse affect on public health.He also directed them to bring in the notice of the administration whether any person is suffering due to shortage of essential commodities in the present circumstances so that appropriate measures are taken. Moreover, he informed that a final warning has been given to all such elements who are hiding the travel and contact details failing which shall render panel action under the relevant laws.

Moreover,Senior Superintendent of Police Baramulla Ab Qayoom stressed upon them to identify all such persons having travel or contact history and contact with the administration in case of exigency.
