COVID-19: Baramulla’s Khawajabagh now declared ”red zone”

Baramulla, May 30: Khawajabagh area in north Kashmir’s Baramulla town has been declared as a ‘Red Zone’ after seven fresh cases were found COVID-19 positive on Saturday.


Reports reaching Kashmir Despatch said Khawajabagh has been declared as a ‘Red Zone’ to prevent the spread of the infection after the area witnessed a surge in the COVID19 cases.


As per Red Zone guidelines, there will be no inward or outward movement of any person besides people won’t be allowed to venture out of their homes.


An official also confirmed to Kashmir Despatch and said the move came after area witnessed seven fresh positive cases of COVID-19.


Pertinently, Baramulla on Saturday recorded 40 new COVID-19 cases among 10 from Watergam, 09 Khawajabagh, 02 Dangiwacha, 07 Gantmulla Payeen, 01 Duroo, 01 Rafiabad, 01 DPL Baramulla, 01 Marazgund, 02 Sopore, 01 Baramulla, 01 Tangmarg, 01 Safapora Rafiabad and 01 Yemberzalwari Sopore.

Meanwhile overall in Jammu and Kashmir 177 positive cases for this deadly virus were reported on Saturday.
