Kupwara, May 28: Kupwara district in northern belt of Kashmir Thursday reported the highest ever peak of 43 cases even since the Pandemic outbreak taking the total toll of cases to 237 In entire district.
An official told Kashmir Despatch that the fresh 43 cases are travellers who in recent days arrived from outside Jammu and Kashmir.
He said with fresh 43 positive cases the total number of travellers tested positive for novel coronavirus has gone up to 126 in the entire district.
Dpeuty Commissioner Kupwara, Anshul Garg informed that 43 new cases, all travellers in quarantine centres being shifted to COVID care facility. This takes total number of Kupwara returnees who have tested positive till date to 126.
He said once again, it is reiterated that we need to keep our guard on and there is no room for complacency in testing and simultaneously following advisories on social distancing and usage of masks.
Pertinently, 237 People have sofar tested positive for novel coronavirus in the entire district of which 70 have recovered with no fatality as on date besides that over 3000 people who arrived back from outside Jammu and Kashmir were quarantined and shifted for sampling.
