CPPPL Stops Work On Highway Stretch From Ramban To Banihal

Date:

Srinagar, July 9 : Power Projects Private Limited (CPPPL), one of the sub-contractors carrying out works along Jammu-Srinagar highway, has stopped works.
The CPPPL has been appointed by HCC to carrying the works on the stretch starting from Ramban (chainage 151) to Banihal (chainage 186), official sources told.

Owner of the CPPPL said the company has stopped the work because of the “clearance” given for the non-completion of the works worth crores by other construction agencies.

“The HCC has withdrawn an amount of Rs 65 crore extra without doing the work the clearance for the same was given by the client Rodic,” the owner said.

“This is the reason why CPPPL for all practical reason has stopped the work. Tomorrow if any slide comes or the Highway gets disrupted due to any reason, HCC would be solely responsible for the same,” the owner said.

“The total payment made by the client Rodic to HCC has been to the tune of Rs.330 Crores but on ground when we (CPPPL) took stock of the situation and measurements, of the work done, it was found that only works worth Rs 280 crores has been done,” the owner said.

HCC, the owner said, had previously also entered into an agreement with another company by the name of Ashapura Roadlines of Gujarat worth Rs. 400 crores. “However without foreclosing the contract with them they entered into a new MOU with CPPPL for the same chainages which were given to them.” (GNS)
