Cross Border shelling : lady killed, another injured in Uri

Srinagar, June 12 : A 45- year-old woman was killed in Uri sector of north Kashmir’s Baramulla District during ceasefire violation by Pakistan on Friday.

Sources told Kashmir Despatch said a 45 year old civilian identified as Akhtar Begum wife of Zahoor Ahmad Chaichi of Bhatgran Uri was killed in cross border shelling.

Sources said she was killed when a mortar shell fired by Pakistani troops exploded in the civilian area of Gohallan area close to the LoC.

The exchange of bullets and shells between Indain and Pakistani has created panic among people on both the sides of LoC sources added.

Earlier, a 32 year old woman identified as Parveen Begum wife of Shabir Ahmad Shiekh of Nambla Fatawali sustained splinter injury in the shelling.

Pertinently, Indo Pak armies exchanged gunfire along line of control LOC in Hajipeer sector of Uri
