CS Convenes Meeting To Discuss Corruption, Ways To Curb it

Srinagar, June 5 : Jammu and Kashmir Chief Secretary have convened a meeting on Monday to discuss the issue of corruption in Jammu & Kashmir and means to curb it.

Official sources told news agencythat meeting, scheduled at 11:00 a.m. on June 8, is likely to be attended by Financial Commissioner, Finance Department, Principal Secretaries to the Government Science & Technology Department, Housing & Urban Development Department, Revenue, Power Development Department, PWD(R&B) besides Commissioner/Secretary Industries & Commerce Department, Jal Shakti Department as well as secretaries to the Planning & Monitoring, Rural Development and PR, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs and Secretary-General Administration Department. Director, Anti Corruption Bureau, J&K, has also been asked to attend the meeting, the sources said. They said that the meeting has been convened on the directions by Lieutenant Governor. They said the meeting will look into delays and other issues linked to corruption in all departments.

As regards Housing and Urban Development Department, issues pertaining to illegal constructions, violation of building permission, corrupt practices by officials and illegal appoints, etc. Similarly related issues are being discussed as regards other departments, the sources added. (GNS)
