Curfew like restrictions imposed in Kashmir on the eve of abrogation of Article 370

SRINAGAR, August 05: Curfew like restrictions was imposed in Kashmir on Wednesday on the first anniversary of abrogation of Article 370.


As per Kashmir Despatch Correspondent, security forces were deployed across the valley to prevent law and order situation. While the Jammu and Kashmir police were seen making announcements urging people to remain indoors.


An official told Kashmir Despatch that security deployed across Kashmir to maintain the law and order situation. He added that there were apprehension that people may observe 5th August as Black Day in Kashmir so keeping that things in view security were increased across the region.


It is pertinent to mention here that on Tuesday evening, the order imposing 48 hours lockdown was withdrawn by the administration. According to the official statement, since there was no outbreak of protest in any part of the valley so the order of curfew was withdrawn.
