KUPWARA – In a significant achievement, the Cyber Cell Kupwara has successfully thwarted multiple online financial frauds, saving a total of Rupees 301,137 for the victims. The Cyber Cell received complaints regarding various fraudulent activities, ranging from migration certificate updates to fake online trading schemes.
In one case, a victim lost Rupees 1,00,000 to a scammer posing as a migration certificate official. After receiving the complaint, the Cyber Cell swiftly collected evidence and blocked the fraudulent transactions, thus ensuring the full amount was saved.
Similarly, in another case, a complainant was duped of Rupees 4,07,000 with the promise of doubling the amount. However, thanks to the proactive efforts of the Cyber Cell, a significant part of the money, Rupees 1,75,337, has been put on hold and the refund process initiated.
Furthermore, a victim who fell for a fake dental doctor’s scam on social media lost Rupees 25,800. Upon receiving the complaint, the Cyber Cell quickly gathered evidence and successfully blocked the transaction, saving the full amount for the victim.
These commendable actions by the Cyber Cell Kupwara demonstrate their commitment to protecting the public from online financial frauds.
