Srinagar, June 24 : The mixture of forces on Wednesday morning resumed search operation Inside the woods in Lolab area of North Kashmir’s Kupwara district for fleeing militants.
Defense sources told Kashmir Despatch that the search operation in the forest area in Lolab continued for consecutive second day.
He said security forces have launched massive search operation from different directions in the dense forest. However, during the night, the operation was suspended because of darkness to avoid any casualty. With the first light in the morning, security forces resumed the operation.
As reported Kashmir Despatch, Senior Superintendent of police Kupwara, Shriram Ambarkar told this newspaper that no fresh contact was established in the forest area of Lolab.
The mixture of forces Including Army’s 28, Police and CRPF on Tuesday morning had cordon off the woods of Lolab following inputs about the presence of some militants.
In the Initial search operation, a brief exchange of gunfire took place between two sides.
