Baramulla, Aug 10: Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Dr S.F. Hamid, on Monday chaired a meeting of the MY Bharat District Advisory Committee to review and strengthen youth-oriented activities and initiatives in the district.
The meeting focused on reviewing the functioning of the committee and discussing measures to enhance the participation of young people in various community, social and developmental activities under the MY Bharat initiative.
The Deputy Commissioner stressed the importance of providing youth with meaningful opportunities to participate in activities that contribute to community development and promote civic engagement.
The committee discussed ways to strengthen coordination among different departments and stakeholders to ensure greater participation of young people in programmes being conducted under the MY Bharat platform.
The meeting also emphasised the need to encourage youth involvement in volunteering, social service and other community-based initiatives, enabling them to play a more active role in addressing issues at the grassroots level.
Dr Hamid called for coordinated efforts among stakeholders to ensure that the objectives of MY Bharat are effectively implemented at the district level. He underscored the importance of engaging young people in constructive activities and creating platforms where they can contribute their ideas and skills.
The committee also reviewed the existing youth engagement mechanisms and discussed measures to expand outreach so that more young people, including those from rural and remote areas of the district, can participate in MY Bharat activities.
Officials and members of the committee deliberated on strengthening awareness about the initiative and ensuring that eligible youth are encouraged to register and participate in programmes and volunteering opportunities.
The Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned stakeholders to work in close coordination and ensure effective implementation of planned activities. He also called for regular monitoring of programmes so that the benefits of youth-oriented initiatives reach a wider section of the population.
The meeting forms part of the district administration’s efforts to provide young people with greater opportunities for participation in community development and public service.
The MY Bharat initiative seeks to provide a platform for young people to connect with government programmes, participate in volunteering activities and contribute to nation-building and community development.
The district administration said continued engagement with youth would help create greater awareness about available opportunities and encourage young people to become active participants in development activities across Baramulla.
