DC B’la reviews arrangements for DGPC elections-2022

BARAMULLA, MAY 26: The Deputy Commissioner /District Election Officer Baramulla, Dr. Syed Sehrish Asgar today convened a meeting to review the arrangements being put in place for smooth conduct of District Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee (DGPC) elections-2022.

Threadbare discussions were held on various arrangements, including holding of special camps for disposal of claims and training of the staff being deployed to the polling stations.

On the occasion, Assistant Commissioner Returning Officer/Revenue Baramulla, Mumtaz Ahmad Peer informed that the election notification will be published tomorrow. He also informed that 11 DGPC constituencies are in place and 27 polling stations will be established for District Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee Elections 2022.

Meanwhile, RO informed that the election schedule has been issued wherein date of commencement of filing nomination papers has been scheduled on 28th of this month and last for filing nomination is fixed on 04-06-2022. 

Moreover, time and date of scrutiny of nomination papers, last date for withdrawal of candidature, date for allotment of symbols, last date for campaigning, date of Polls, date of counting has been fixed on 07th, 09th, 10th, 25th, 27th and 27th of next month respectively.

While reviewing the arrangements, the Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned officers to ensure basic facilities at the polling stations and stressed for imparting necessary training to the staff being deployed for the elections so that the elections are conducted in a free, fair and smooth atmosphere.
