DC B’la reviews water facility during current dry spell

BARAMULLA, AUGUST 21: Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Dr G N Itoo today chaired two separate meetings here at Dak Bungalow.

During the first meeting, DC discussed various measures with regard to the availability of drinking water facility in the wake of current dry spell.

On the occasion, a threadbare discussion was held during which the DC emphasised for adopting all such measures which will help in mitigating the water crisis.

He directed the PHE authorities to prepare a contingency plan so that appropriate measures are taken during emergencies.

DC also directed to procure additional water tankers, whereever needed besides stressed for utilising the available resources in a productive manner.

He also said that administration is committed to provide all necessities to the people in a convenient way.

Dr Itoo further directed to keep strict vigil on the use of line boosters and said that strict action shall be taken against those resorting to such practices.

He also directed to cover all the eligible households under the centrally sponsored Jal Jeevan Mission besides highlighting the objectives of the programme.

Joint Director Planning, Executive Engineers of PHE department, ACD, district and sectoral officers besides other functionaries of PHE department were present on the ocassion.

Meanwhile DC chaired the District Level Review Committee (DLRC) meeting to review the overall performance of banks and other related institutions for the quarter ended March 2020 of the financial year 2019-20.

On the occasion, the DC stressed for cent percent achievement of Annual Credit Plan targets and emphasized upon the heads of various financial institutions to create awareness with regard to the welfare schemes sponsored by these institutions among masses so that people can avail benefits for their overall socio economic development.

Deliberating upon various departments to work in coordination, the DC directed the sponsoring departments and agencies to establish help desks for the candidates wishing to get financial assistance from these institutions.

He also directed them to acquaint the appointed Nodal Officers with the requisite know-hows who can efficiently liaise between different stakeholders besides providing counseling to the aspiring candidates.

Meanwhile, enumerating the list of achievements, Lead District Manager said that the achievements under ACP 2019-20 for the district stood at Rs 2744.38 Crores as on 31-03-2020 which constitutes 82.70 percent of the target of Rs 3318.48 Crores as laid down in ACP.

He further informed the meeting about the performances recorded in priority and non priority sectors

Among others, the meeting was attended by LDM Baramulla, DDM NABARD, officers of various concerned departments, representatives of various banks and other financial institutions.
