Bhupinder Kumar also Chairs COVID-19 District Task Force Meeting
Baramulla, March 04: Deputy Commissioner Baramulla Bhupinder Kumar today took the 1st shot of COVID-19 vaccine here at Govt Medical College (GMC) Baramulla.
After receiving the vaccine shot, the DC has urged the people more especially the target beneficiaries to get vaccinated at their stipulated time and terms it crucial for defeating the challenge of COVID-19 pandemic.
Meanwhile, the DC chaired COVID-19 District Task Force meeting at dak bungalow in order to discuss various measures and modalities for effectively and smoothly implementing the vaccination programme. The meeting also discussed various means and measures to eliminate the apprehensions and misconceptions that have been developed about the vaccine among the masses.
On the occasion, a comprehensive discussion on the subject was held during which the DC took feedbacks and suggestions for making the campaign a success.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC emphasized upon the officers to work with utmost zeal and dedication so as to disseminate awareness about the importance of COVID-19 vaccine. He directed to launch a vibrant sensitization campaign at block and at other levels and underlined the need of utilizing the services of PRIs in this regard. DC said that PRIs constitute important stakeholders who enjoy special positions and privileges in the society.
DC also directed to immediately start an orientation programme by engaging ASHA, Anganwardi workers and other prominent stakeholders who shall educate the people at grass root level. He also directed the District Information Officer Baramulla to productively engage media outlets for eliminating the apprehensions about the vaccine.
Moreover, DC directed several officers including JD Planning, DIO, MS Associated Hospital and other officials of health department to daily submit the progress report regarding the vaccination programme.
