DC B’la visits Pattan, Took Stock of Muharram Arrangements

Baramulla, August 17: Deputy Commissioner Baramulla Dr G N Itoo accompanied by SDM Pattan and various concerned officers today paid visit to several adjoining areas of Pattan where he took stock of various necessary arrangements put in place for the smooth observance of upcoming Muharram-ul-Harram.

The DC inspects several Imambaras located at Ahmadpora, Cheenabal, Yakmanpora,Divar and at other place where he took the first hand appraisal of various necessities. He interacted with the representatives of some Shia associations who appraised him about their needs and demands pertaining to Muharram. They also expressed gratitude of the DC for visiting the area and listening to their grievances.

Dr Itoo had a patient hearing and said that that special arrangements have ben made in view of the present circumstances emerged due to COVID-19 outbreak. He also directed that concerned officers to provide uninterrupted water and power supply during the auspicious days. DC directed to work in cooperation so that Muharram Mourners may not face any inconvenience.

Dr Itoo directed the Municipal authorities to fumigate all the vital locations viz Imam Baras and masjids. He also directed the health authorities to make adequate arrangements and organize special camps for distributing face masks, sanitizers and immunity boosting medicines. DC also appealed to follow all the related SOPs and guidelines so that the risk of COVID-19 infection is mitigated.
