DC Jammu reviews progress of Jal Jeevan Mission schemes, PMAY (U)

JAMMU, APRIL 27: Deputy Commissioner Jammu Avny Lavasa today reviewed the progress of work on Jal Jeevan Mission schemes and implementation of Pradhan Mantari Awas Yojna (Urban) here at a meeting.

Chief Planning Officer Yoginder Katoch along with senior officers of the concerned department attended the meeting.

The meeting was informed that 272 JJM projects have been approved for the district, for which Rs 1200 crore has been allotted.

The Deputy Commissioner said that JJM is a flagship program of the Central government under which 100 % saturation of functional household tap water has to be ensured by the Implementing agency by the end of this year.

She also asked the ISAs to activate/involve Pani Samitis to expedite the process so that the target can be achieved in a time bound manner.

The Deputy Commissioner asked the officers to focus on allotting the works, monitoring of execution and completion without any delay.

The Deputy Commissioner exhorted for mobilizing men and machinery for completing the projects in a stipulated time frame besides urged to ensure productive and fruitful utilization of the available resources.

While reviewing the progress of works under PMAY (U), the DC stressed on the concerned authorities to take all possible measures to accelerate the pace of construction work of Houses for their time-bound completion.
