Baramulla, June 19: District Development Commissioner, Dr G N Itoo today chaired a meeting of concerned officers to discuss the preparation of Detailed Project Report (DPR) and other modalities on the construction of Narbal-Uri stretch of Srinagar-Baramulla-Uri four lane.
Meeting was attended by ADC Baramulla Mohammad Ahsan Mir, ACR, SE PDD, SE R&B, SE Hydraulic circle Baramulla, officers of National Highway Authority of India (NHAI), Forest and other concerned departments.
On the occasion, a comprehensive discussion with respect to the project was held wherein it was informed that the said project envisages improvement of Srinagar-Baramulla-Uri (NH-1) from 14.200 km to 47.200 four lane specification. The project also involves the construction of byepass for Pattan town and Kanispora and flyover for Sangrama.
The meeting also discussed various bottlenecks and constraints during which the concerned officers briefed the chair with regard to their resolution.
Meanwhile, DDC sought the assessment on the project from the concerned officers and impressed upon them to work in coordination for its execution. He directed the forest department to furnish the necessary clearance so that other necessitates on the project can be initiated. He also directed for chopping of poplars alongside the road and exhorted for planting compensatory willow trees.
