BUDGAM, Oct 25: A plantation drive launched by the Social Forest Department, Division Srinagar, was on Tuesday kick started in Dak Bunglow Budgam.
The drive was inaugurated by Budgam District Development Council Chairperson Nazir Ahmed Khan by planting saplings of deodar at Dak Bungalow in Budgam.
The drive was inaugurated in presence of Tanveer Ahmad Parray, Divisional Forest Officer Social Forest Division Srinagar. On this occasion many officers including Mohammad Ashraf, Executive Engineer R&B Budgam, Mubashir Riaz AEE PMGSY Budgam, Sheikh Manzoor, ARTO Budgam, Mushtaq Ahmed Range Officer Social Forestry Range Budgam and Abdul Majeed Paray President Jammu Kashmir Trade Union Council took part in this Plantation drive.
On this occasion, Abdul Majid Parray told the Kashmir Despatch that the main purpose of the plantation drive is to make the people aware about the importance of the environment. He also urged the people to plant more and more trees in their respective areas for a better environment.
