Baramulla, Dec 04 ; A furniture factory, five residential houses were completely gutted while several other houses were partially damaged in a massive fire mishap at
Kanlibagh Baba Reshi Road in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on late Sunday night.
An official told Kashmir Despatch that property worth Crore of rupees was reduced to ashes on Sunday late evening.
He said that a fire broke out at a furniture factory of Farooq Ahmad Najar in a residential locality on Kanlibagh Baba Reshi road which spread to nearby residential houses in jiffy in which the factory and five residential houses were destroyed.
Meanwhile, army in a statement issued to Kashmir Despatch said on 03 December late evening significant fire broke out in the house of Ghulam Ahmad Nazar in Kanlibagh, Baramulla.
The fire quickly spread to nearby houses belonging to Farooq Ahmad Sheikh, Fayaz Ahmad Sheikh, Mohd Shafi Mir & Sep Firdaus Ahmed Mir (Retd) of 161 Inf Bn TA.
Timely action by46 RR QRT, stationed at Stadium COB under Maj Arun Baloria, along with 02 x Water Bowsers, rushed to the incident site by 2145 for firefighting.
Subsequently, 02 x QRTs from Noorbagh & Khwajabagh COBs of 46 RR, alongwith addl 04 x Water Bowsers reached the site.
Additionally, QRTs & Water Bowsers of HQ 19 Arty Bde & various other units also responded.Civ Fire Tenders & Police also reached the incident site for coord firefighting efforts.To decongest the area, as the Fire Bde reps were busy making fire fighting arngs, Fire tenders were driven by Army pers through fire gutted area.
Damage
01 x Wood Factory (Walnut Furniture making) completely burnt.
05 x houses, incl the factory, completely destroyed.
