SRINAGAR, Nov 10: Al Miskeen Yateen Trust finds itself entangled in a controversy as the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) Srinagar sealed its previous premises at Nundreshi Colony in Bemina, alleging the disappearance of 18 children. The gravity of the situation was accentuated by the committee expressing concern over the safety and whereabouts of the orphan children.

Abid Ali, the chairman of Al Miskeen Yateen Trust, vehemently refuted the allegations, denouncing the news as entirely fabricated. Ali contended that the trust had meticulously adhered to the CWC’s directives by relocating to a new address in Sector 5, 7C of Bemina due to structural concerns with their former building.

He further asserted, “Contrary to the erroneous reports, all the children under our care are safe and accounted for. We currently have six students on leave, and upon learning of this unfounded news, we have promptly recalled them. They are expected to be back under our care by tomorrow at 10 am.”

However, CWC Chairperson Khair un Nissa presented a counter-narrative, expressing incredulity at Ali’s assertions. Nissa clarified that she had received no prior information regarding the trust’s relocation to a new facility. She underscored the committee’s position that, despite the trust’s assurance, it is imperative for them to present the children in question before the committee for thorough verification. “We have granted them a reasonable window to produce the children,” she stated, emphasizing the need for transparency and accountability in matters concerning the welfare of children.

Nissa further raised questions about the wisdom of visiting a building about which she has no knowledge, emphasizing her intention to inspect locations familiar to her from multiple prior visits. This statement underscores the apparent communication gap and underscores the need for a meticulous examination of the unfolding events.

The conflicting narratives surrounding the Al Miskeen Yateen Trust case have ignited heightened concerns, prompting intensified scrutiny into the circumstances surrounding the alleged disappearance of children under its care.

The CWC’s call for the prompt presentation of the children for verification underscores the gravity of the situation and the imperative need for a collaborative and transparent approach between trusts and regulatory bodies to safeguard the welfare of children.

This unfolding saga serves as a poignant reminder of the critical importance of maintaining robust communication channels and adherence to established protocols in matters related to child welfare.
