Kupwara, Oct 31: District Police Kupwara today observed National Unity Day (Rashtriya Ekta Diwas) at DPL Kupwara where Additional Superintendent of Police Kupwara Shri Ifroz Ahmad-JKPS took the salute and administered oath of Unity to the police officers and Jawans. Different contingents took part in a colourful march past.
Speaking on the occasion, ASP Kupwara said that this function has been held to pay tributes to the Iron Man of India” Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, first Home Minister of the country who made it possible to integrate 562 States into one unit.
He said that the present “Shape” of the country is because of his contribution. To commemorate the huge contribution of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Rashtriya Ekta Diwas is celebrated, on this day every year wherein we take the pledge for maintaining internal security, integrity and sovereignty of the country.
During the occasion C.O 162 Bn CRPF,C.O 98 Bn, Dysp Hqrs MudasirAhmad, Dysp DAR Kupwara Sarfaraz Bashir and DySP Lolab were also Present.
