Doc suspended for releasing inmates from quarantine centre without seeing test reports

Srinagar June 4: A medical officer in Handwara has been suspended for allegedly showing negligence in duties at a quarantine facility.

The ADC Handwara has issued an order which says that various complaints were received against the doctor, as reported by Block Medical Officer Handwara. 


“Whereas, vide explanation No. BMOH/115-18 dated 04.06.2020, the Block Medical Officer Handwara directed you to explain your position within 06 hours, as you were frequently creating problems for the administration.

Whereas, it has been reported that you have released 08 inmates from Quarantine Centre established at Degree College Handwara, without seeing the daily test reports of inmates,” the order reads a copy of which lies with Kashmir Despatch. 


“This is a gross negligence on your part, keeping in view the impact of pandemic upon the general public. Your behavior has put the whole administration on the back foot, as the hard-earned efforts have been badly affected by your action. Pending enquiry into the matter, you are hereby placed under suspension with immediate effect and directed to report Sub-District Hospital Tangdar. The charge sheet will follow,” the order reads.
