Medical team rushes to provide treatment, testing of drinking water
Pahalgam, July 25, : A large number of inhabitants of villages like Wallerhama, Sofipora, Dahwatoo, Movura, Kullar, Naighpora, and Shaleberan are suffering from Diarrhoea after consuming infected drinking water.
As per Locals, a dead monkey was found in the water tank in the Avura area of Pahalgam from where the water is supplied to these villages. Locals say that the PHE workers have been indulging in negligence and hardly clean the water tank supplying water to thousands of inhabitants.
Block Medical Officer, Arshid Tak along with the concerned Tehsildar, Shakeel Ahmed Ganie, and medical team have reached the area.
“We have provided treatment to the infected people while the water samples have been collected for testing purposes. As per our information, a thunderstorm has occurred in the area some days ago which might have polluted the water,” said Tehsildar Paha. (CNS)
