SRINAGAR, Sep 11: Poet, writer and convener Kashmiri Advisory Board at Sahtiya Akademi New Delhi, Dr Aziz Hajini passed away after a brief period of illness at his residence.
The deceased was a renowned Kashmiri poet, critic and taught Kashmiri in centre for Sheikh-ul-Aalam studies University of Kashmir till he retired from active service in 2019.
He also worked as Secretary of J&K Academy of Art Culture and Languages. He wrote more than 20 books in Kashmiri language and was widely known for his contribution in Kashmiri language. He was the first gold medalist in languages from University of Kashmir.
Late Hajini also served Adbi Markaz Kamraz as it’s general secretary .
Editor-in Chief Kashmir Despatch Syed Basharat has expressed deep shock and grief over the demise of Dr Hajini. “Dr Hajini’s demise has left a huge void hard to be filled, ” Basharat said, while praying for eternal peace to the departed soul and endurance to his family to bear this irreparable loss.
