Dr Sehrish inaugurates Students Showcase Event at Baramulla

BARAMULLA, OCTOBER 22: With an aim to integrate affordable technology with education for school students, Education Department Baramulla in collaboration with Pi Jam Foundation today held a showcase programme at Dak Bungalow Baramulla, wherein students showed their skills of different nature. 

The event was inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla, Dr Syed Sehrish Asgar in presence of Joint Director Planning, Chief Education Officer and Assistant Commissioner Revenue.

On the occasion, the students showcased various innovative projects which got quite applause by the participants. 

Addressing the participants, the DC said that ATL is an initiative to boost cognitive development in children where they are given avenues to experiment and widen their understanding of phenomena on scientific ideas. 

The DC informed that Baramulla is an aspirational district and has established 70 AT Libraries in educational institutions across the district while 54 other labs are being established for the students so that they become competent in making experiments and learn skills.

She impressed upon the concerned authorities to promote scientific temper among the students by proactively engaging them in various experiments and scientific activities.

Moreover, the DC urged the students to get themselves engaged in such activities meant to boost the scientific temper among the students. 

Other speakers, including Joint Director Planning, M.Yosuf Rather; CEO, GM Lone; ACR , Peerzada Mumtaz Ahmad also highlighted the importance of organizing such programmes and urged the students to contribute to the scientific advancement of the nation.
