SRINAGAR, Sept 5: Renowned dentist Dr. Tikka Rashid has been honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award and the Best Service Award by the Islamic Relief and Research Trust (IRRT).
The awards were presented in recognition of his contribution to dentistry and his role in humanitarian service. With decades of practice, Dr. Rashid has been credited for advancing quality dental care in the Valley and extending his expertise to social welfare initiatives.
The IRRT described him as “a pioneer whose service combines medical excellence with social responsibility.” The recognition places him among a select group of medical luminaries including Dr. G.Q. Allaqaband, Ms. Khurroo, Dr. Abdul Hamid Zargar, and Dr. Showkat Zargar, who have been honoured in the past.
The awards were formally presented by former civil service officer Aijaz Kakroo and Justice Bashir Kirmani.
Dr. Rashid, while expressing gratitude, said the honour was a tribute to his patients and colleagues. “My journey has always been about service, and I feel humbled that my work has been acknowledged in this way,” he said.
