Drug awareness programme under “Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyaan” held in Sopore school

Sopore : Municipal Council Sopore under Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyaan (Drug Free India Campaign) conducted drug awareness programme , Govt. High School Jamia Qadeem Sopore.

Students of different schools participated and took pledge to stay away from drugs and take active part in drive against drugs abuse.

The program was organized under the supervision and leadership of MC President Sopore Masrat Rasool Kar, CEO MC Sopore Tariq Ahmad Reshi.

Those attended the occasion including Vice President MC Sopore Mohammed Yousuf Radu, ZEO Sopore Abdul Salam Dar, Sanitary Inspector Aijaz Ahmad, Food Inspector Imtiyaz Ahmad Pandith, Hussain Jeelani, Abdul Majeed, Tariq Ahmad Bhat and Javeed Ahmad Bhat councillor others were present on the occasion.

On the occasion a group of students shared an awareness message on drug abuse and ban on single use of plastics through skit and ladishah.

Students also participated in the drawing and painting competition.

On the occasion Masrat Rasool Kar briefed the participants, students about the threats of drug abuse and encouraged them to stay away from drugs and related narcotics.

She emphasized on adopting a healthy lifestyle, which shall ultimately lead to a much healthier society, at large.

She also apprised the students, participants about the awareness programmes being organized to focus on the youth involvement in social evil eradication programme floated by the Government of India and reach out to the target groups.

She said it’s responsiblity of all to accept those people who are on wrong path, she said guide them properly, council them as they are in need of love, care and proper guidance.

She appealed parents too to be serious about the future of their children and play an active role in making their career bright.

On the closing ceremony of the program the headmaster of Jamia Qadeem High school thanked MC President Masrat Rasool Kar for her efforts and hardwork towards town and appealed her to organise such awareness programs in near future also.

Pertinently, In a first anti-drug squard was formed by MC Sopore who can check on anti-social activities and can identify those people too who are involved in drugs and other illegal activities in the town.

Later in the day MC President chaired meeting with sweepers at Dak Banglow Sopore and briefed them about their role in the centre organised Program “Nasha Mukht Bharat Abhiyan”.

She said that sweepers can play an important role in saving the society from the illegal activities and can identify those people involved in wrong practices.

The president said that in such cases MC can take lead in sending the people involved in wrong practices directly to the rehab center.
