Sopore : Since the second wave of Covid hit the country, the Drug Control Officer Sopore and Rafiabad, Junaid Naseer has hardly spent time at home. Junaid, donning the PPE kit, works for almost 14 hours a day at the Covid areas of Sopore and Rafiabad.
Since the spread of Covid-19 pandemic, he has been on toes for the sake of people and made himself available 24×7 .
In an interview with Kashmir Despatch Junaid said once the pandemic broke, he couldn’t bear the suffering and pain of people.
“It was hard for me to see people suffer during the pandemic, so I decided to give my hundred percent to my people,” Junaid told Kashmir Despatch.
The drug officer has not only helped people by providing masks, sanitizers and medical aid but at times he helped them financially also.
“It’s been nearly months that I have been working round the clock for the covid affected. The couple of hours that I get for myself, I manage to have my food and get some rest. It was the ripe time when people needed me, so I kept myself available all the time,” Junaid Naseer said.
When asked how he manages to work for long hours, Junaid said, “I saw the common people working round the clock to save precious lives. Their dedication motivated me and I feel it is my duty to serve in the hour of crisis. I am not scared anymore and will continue working round the clock till the virus ebbs. Besides that people have high hopes with me, the administration has put their faith in me, so it is my duty to make a visible change in the ground,” he added.
