Srinagar, July 30: Continuing the special enforcement drive under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan following the successful completion of its first 100 days, the Drug Control Organisation on Wednesday carried out extensive inspections of retail drug establishments across Srinagar.
Acting on the directions of the worthy SDC for continuation of the campaign, a joint team of Drug Control Officers from Headquarters, Zone-I and Zone-II, under the supervision of the Assistant Drugs Controller, Srinagar, conducted inspections of various retail drug establishments in the two zones on July 30.
During the drive, 22 retail drug establishments were inspected, while seven drug samples were collected and sent for analysis. The operation of M/s Aleena Medicate, located near Jawaharlal Nehru Memorial Hospital (JLNM), Rainawari, was suspended for one day due to the absence of a qualified person, as required under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act.
The establishments inspected during the drive included M/s Mansha Medicate, M/s Fazili Medicate, M/s Worldline Medicate, M/s Elixer Medicate, M/s Chowdary Medicate, M/s Masco Pharmacy, M/s Sure Health Medicate, M/s New Hope Medicate, M/s Urban Medicate, M/s Bio Care Medicate, M/s K.I. Medicate (all in Rainawari), M/s Shayista Medicate (Nishat), M/s Lifeline Chemist Shop and M/s SMSK Medicate (Chinar Chowk, Shalimar), M/s Aisha Medicate (Shalimar), M/S Medicate (Pazwalpora), M/s Bhat Medicate, M/s Al Amin Pharmacy, M/s Waleed Medicate, M/s Misbah Medicate, M/s Salsabeel Medicate and M/s Sultanil Areefeen.
Officials said the inspections are part of the ongoing effort to strengthen regulatory oversight, ensure compliance with drug laws, and prevent the misuse and illegal sale of medicines under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan.
