Ganderbal, October 6:In its continued efforts to curb the menace of drug abuse, Ganderbal Police today apprehended a drug peddler and recovered contraband substance from his possession in the jurisdiction of Police Station Kangan.
During routine patrolling near Old Akhal Bridge, police personnel noticed a person moving under suspicious circumstances. Upon checking, a Charas-like substance was recovered from his possession. The individual was immediately apprehended and identified as Riyaz Ahmad Khan, son of Mohammad Ashraf Khan, resident of Parun Kunmulla, Akhal.
Accordingly, a case FIR No. 67/2025 under relevant sections of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Kangan, and further investigation is underway.
