Sopore, August 17: In a mission to make town a drug free, Sopore police on Monday apprehended one more drug peddler in the town.
Giving details to Kashmir Despatch a police officer said on 16 August 2020, Police Station Bomia arrested one drug peddler who were identified as Waseem Akbar Dar @Gash Dar S/O Mohammad Akbar Dar R/O Batlipora Tujjar during naka checking by Police party of Police Station Bomia.
The officer said large quantity of ilegal drugs were recovered from his possession.
A case FIR Number 66/2020 US 8/20 NDPS Act stands registered at Police Station Bomia and further investigation has been initiated officer added.
Once again Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law.
Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace as reiterated in our community meetings.
