Drug peddler held in Awantipora

Awantipora, Oct 08 : Police in South Kashmir’s Ananthnag district on Thursday claimed to have arrested a drug peddler and recovered huge quantity of illegal liquor from his procession.

In a statement issued to Kashmir Despatch police said one bootlegger was arrested and recovered 16 bottles of illicit liquor(beer) from his possession while he was moving in suspicious circumstances near Naka at Awantipora Chowk.

The arrested persons has been identified as Ishtiyaq Mahmood residents of Chersoo Awantipora.

A case FIR No. 143/2020 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Awantipora the statement reads.
