Drug peddler held in Awantipora

Awantipora, August 24: Police on Monday claimed to have arrested a drug peddler in South Kashmir’s Awantipora.

An official told Kashmir Despatch that a drug peddler was apprehended during a naka in the Awantipora village on Monday.

He said during checking by police party at village Karwani, a vehicle bearing registration number JKO3C-3212 was intercepted. During search of the said vechile 02 Kg of poppy straw (grinded fukki )was recovered.

A police officer identified the drug peddler as Jahangir Ahmad Dar of Frisal area of Kulgam district,the vechile used in the commission of crime has also been seized.

Accordingly, a case FIR No. 116/2020 under relevant sections of NDPS has been registered in Awantipora and investigation taken up the officer added.
