Drug peddlers arrested in Khrew, contraband substance recovered

Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Awantipora Police arrested 01 drug peddler and recovered contraband substance from his possession.

During naka checking at Babapora Khrew Police Party headed by SHO Ps Khrew Inspector Naieem Rashid intercepted one person in suspicious condition,when police party signalled him to stop he tried to flee from the spot but police party apprehended him tactfully. During search, 01 gram of Heroin like substance was recovered from his possession. The arrested drug peddler has been identified as Rayees Ahmad Hajam S/o Gh Mohd Hajam R/o Sharshali Khrew

Case FIR number 67/2025 under relevant sections of NDPS Act stands registered at Police Station Khrew and investigation taken up.
