Eid-Ul-Azha : DC Baramulla Directs To Keep A “Strict Watch” On Prices/Quality Of Essential Commodities

Baramulla : Ahead of Eid-Ul-Azha Deputy Commissioner Baramulla Dr Syed Sehrish Asgar on Saturday has constituted special teams for market checking in order to prevent profiteering and black marketing by business establishments operating in the district.

In an order copy of which a copy lies with Kashmir Despatch reads, In order to put in place a proper mechanism to check the price, availability and quality/ standard of different essential commodities indispensable for daily use, particularly on the eve of festivals, a Joint Marketing Squads consisting of District and Tehsil Level Monitoring Committees with the following composition is hereby constituted.

The committee shall visit markets regularly and impose fine/FIRs against the defaulters, wherever necessary, so that black marketing, hoarding and profiteering is controlled and those who are found guilty be strictly dealt as per law so that the common people get commodities at genuine rates.

District Level Monitoring Committee:

  1. Assistant Director FCS&CA.
  2. Assistant Controller Legal Metrology.
  3. Assistant Commissioner Food Safety.
  4. Dy. SP HQ Police.
  5. HQA to Deputy Commissioner Baramulla.
  6. Executive Officer Municipal Council.

Tehsil Level Monitoring Committee:

  1. Tehsildar Concerned.
  2. Tehsil Supply Officer Concerned.
  3. Station House Officer Concerned.
  4. Inspector Legal Metrology.
  5. Food Safety Inspector Baramulla.
  6. Executive Officer Municipal Committee Concerned the order reads
