Elderly man injured in Bear attack in Boniyar

Baramulla : A 45 year old man on late Sunday evening sustained grievous injuries after being attacked by a bear at Boniyar area in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

According to sources, Abdul Rashid Ganai son of Rustum Ganai resident of Batangi Boniyar had gone to a nearby forest when the incident took place. When he raised an alarm, locals in the nearby rushed to his rescue, and drove away the bear.

However, he was rushed to District hospital Baramulla where from he was reffered to SKIMS Soura Srinagar for advanced treatment.

A police officer also confirmed this incident and said a case has been registered in this regard and further investigation has been taken up.
