Elderly man stabbed to death in Handwara

Handwara, Nov 6 : An elderly man was on Thursday allegedly stabbed to death by a neighbor in Pohrupeth Village of Handwara in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.

Reports said that around 6 pm on Thursday, a man aged about 65 years was allegedly stabbed by Farooq Ahmad Dar resident of Pohrupeth resulting death of an elderly man.

The deceased has been identified as Abdul Jabbar Dar Son of Ghulam Ahmad Dar resident of Pohrupeth.

The family of the deceased said that he was going to get his cow back from orchards when he was stabbed near Sagipora Bus stop.

They alleged the same person had also attacked him last year and left him critically injured.

The family demanded strict action against the accused person.

Meanwhile, a police officer also confirmed the incident said FIR under relevant section of law has been lodged and said the accused has been arrested.(KNS)
