Elderly woman injured, house damaged in cross border shelling in Kupwara

Srinagar, April 11 : A 70 year old woman was injured, while a residential house was damaged in the cross border shelling along line of control (LOC) in north Kashmir’s Froienter district on Friday.

Official sources told Kashmir Despatch that an Elderly woman of Jigutiyal ward no. 2 was injured on Friday and a residential house of Sheraz Ahmad Khan was damaged after neighbours exchanged gunfire in Kupwara border.

Fresh shelling between the armies of India and Pakistan erupted on Friday afternoon and continued till evening.

Pertinently, earlier this week five millitants, five soldiers were killed in a gunfight at Keran sector of Kupwara.
