Sopore, Mar 25 : Emotional scenes were witnessed at hyder colony ward of Sopore when a destitute woman from the area narrated her story to the ward councilor Irfan Ali, who promised immediate relief.
A day after rains lashed parts of north Kashmir and left several localities inundate, Sopore councilor visited Hyder Colony Sopore to take stock of the situation.
As per Kashmir Despatch Correspondent, Soon after Sopore councilor Irfan Ali visited the area, a destitute woman whose house in surrounded by rain water narrated her ordeal she is facing all these years.
“My house is in water. The house is unsafe for living in normal circumstances. Right now it is very much dangerous to be inside the house. It can collapse at any moment. I have high hopes with ULB department, its officials and our ward councilor Irfan Ali,” the woman said.
Her ordeal left everyone present there in tears with councilor of the ward Irfan Ali assuring all kinds of support to the needy family.
“I personally request Director Urban Local Bodies to help the family in whatever ways he can. The family is facing the worst time and it is our moral duty to help her,” Irfan Ali said.
Addressing the people at Hyder Colony, he said that all developmental works will start as soon as possible, be it drainage in the area, tile work on footpaths, and other developmental works.
