Encounter rages in Kreeri Baramulla

Baramulla, Aug 17: An Encounter Broke out between security forces and militants in Kreeri village of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Monday hours after a forces party was attacked.

Official sources told Kashmir Despatch, a joint team of army , CRPF and SOG of Jammu and Kashmir police launched a cordon and search operation in outskirts of Baramulla shortly after the attack on forces party in which two CRPF personnel and a cop were killed.

While chasing the militants, a joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them, triggering an encounter.

When the report was filled the gunfight was on in the area.

A police officer told Kashmir Despatch that contact with hidding militants has been established and firing from both sides is on.
