Encounter update:- AGDP, GOC visits encounter site

Seven bodies recovered so far , two beyond recognition

Srinagar, Sep 19 :- With the retrieval of two more bodies, seven bodies have been recovered from Gadool encounter site in Kokernag hamlet of Anantnag district.

Official told news agency Kashmir said that ADGP Vijay Kumar and GOC victor force visited the spot to personally monitor the ongoing encounter

Official sources told the Kashmir Scroll that so far seven bodies have been recovered including two beyond recognition.

They said authorities will go for DNA sampling of the two to confirm whether they were terrorists or not.

Pertinently, on Wednesday, during the initial exchange of fire Colonel Manpreet Singh, who was the commanding officer of 19 RR, Major Aashish Dhonchak and DySP Humayun Bhat, the son of former DIG Kashmir Ghulam Muhammad Bhat were killed.

On Friday, the body of a soldier, who had been missing since Wednesday during the gunfight with terrorists, was recovered from the encounter site.

On Sunday, a charred body beyond recognition was found from the site while on Monday two more bodies including one of soldier Pardeep and other beyond recognition were found .

Combing operation is going on and further details will be shared later, they said.(KS)
