Entrepreneurship Awareness Programme (EAP) sponsored by Ministry of MSME” by Krishi Vigyan Kendra Ganderbal (SKUAST-K)

Krishi Vigyan Kendra Ganderbal (SKUAST-K) in association with Directorate of Planning and Monitoring (SKUAST-K) organised one more awareness programmes today at Wakura, Ganderbal, under EAP sponsored by Ministry of MSME (Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises), Government of India.

More such programmes will be conducted throughout the Kashmir region under the patronage of, Prof Nazir Ahmad Ganie Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of SKUAST-K, Prof Haroon A Naik (PPMO-SKUAST-K) and Prof Dil Mohammad Makhdomi (Director Extension- SKUAST-K).

Senior scientist and head KVK Ganderbal Dr Ishfaq Abidi along with his scientific staff are coordinating, executing & monitoring these programmes in Ganderbal District.

Today the programme entitled “Fruit and Vegetable Processing: Scope as an Entrepreneur” was conducted by Coordinator Dr Rafiya Munshi, Home Scientist, KVK Ganderbal at Wakura area of District Ganderbal were women farmers involved in vegetable cultivation and household processing of excess farm produce The programme was in collaboration with line department and National rural livelihood mission (NRLM) of the concerned block.

A total of 58 trainees participated in the programme and showed keen interest in starting a venture in food processing Awareness regarding entrepreneurship opportunities in production and processing of fruits especially organic vegetables and fruits was given and its role in doubling the farmers income was emphasised.

Krishi Vigyan Kendra Ganderbal (SKUAST-K) is going to organise more such programme in coming months in other domains as well.
