Er Nazir Yatoo meets LG Sinha Raises issues related to FRA , Ring Road

Date:

SRINAGAR January 14 : Senior Political Activist and former Chairman JK Cements Ltd Engineer Nazir Ahmad Yatoo on Thursday met with Lt Governor of J&K Manoj Sinha in Srinagar.

During the meeting Engineer Nazir Yatoo raised issues related to Forest Rights Act (FRA), Land Acquisition for Srinagar Ring Road in Wathoora Budgam and setting up of maternity hospitals in Surasyar and Buzgoo areas of Chadoora sub division.

Er Yatoo told LG Sinha that Forest Rights Act be enforced from March 2021 onwards as there is a lot of snow in villages near forests and cold climate is not ensuring much participation of people in the Gram Sabha’s. He urged upon LG that a massive awareness campaign be launched in all panchayats through Tribal Affairs Department , Rural Development, Education Department and NGO’s.

Yatoo also demanded that affected farmers of Srinagar Ring Road in Wathoora Budgam district be given compensation under the Right to Fair compensation act as the High Court had already given an Interim order in this regard.

He also demanded that Waste Management work under SBM Gramin be taken up in villages as Govt has not even implemented one single project for last 5 years.

“ I also took up the issue related to Snow Clearance under MG-NREGA as this will serve dual purpose of clearing snow in rural areas plus setting up of two maternity hospitals in Chadoora sub division Budgam as far off villages have no access to maternity hospital “ said Engineer Yatoo
