Er Rashid Continues Hunger Strike on 10th Day

Date:

Srinagar, February 9: Awami Itihaad Party (AIP) Chief Spokesperson Inam Un Nabi has expressed grave concern over the worsening health of Er Rashid, who continues his hunger strike for the 10th consecutive day while being admitted to RML Hospital.

Meanwhile, an AIP delegation led by Vice President G.N. Shaheen, comprising Parvaiz Ahmad Bhat, Muzaffar Ahmad Dar, Gazanfar Ali Mir and Aijaz Yousuf, held a high-level meeting with political activists, social workers and AIP members in Jammu.

During the meeting, significant political and organizational matters were discussed, including plans to expand AIP’s presence in the Jammu division. Participants expressed absolute solidarity with Er Rashid and voiced serious concerns over his deteriorating health.

They expressed hope in the judiciary while appealing to authorities to uphold justice and ensure Er Rashid’s rightful liberties.

It was emphasized that subjecting an elected Member of Parliament to institutional injustices was a grave violation of democratic principles.

As part of the organizational expansion, Amarjeet Singh was appointed as District President of Jammu, while Anil Kumar was named District Secretary. Sardar Harnans Singh and Sardar Narinder Singh were nominated as Senior District Advisors. The new office bearers pledged to lead the party’s expansion efforts and prepare for upcoming ULB and Municipal elections in the region.

The meeting concluded with a unanimous appeal for the safe release of Er Rashid, underscoring the importance of safeguarding democratic values and individual liberties.
