SRINAGAR, June 08: The Awami Itihad Party (AIP) Saturday stated that it was their party agenda that helped them win with a huge margin, terming all reports of sympathy votes as baseless and wrong information.
Addressing the media after the historic win in the Lok Sabha Baramulla Parliamentary Constituency seat, the Spokesperson of the jailed leader Er Rashid-led AIP as per The Kashmir Despatch said that there are reports, especially by the opposition political parties, that it was sympathy votes that helped them win, but it was their party agenda that helped them win with a huge margin.
The AIP Spokesperson Firdous Baba further said that while a few emotional videos from the family did help the party gain some votes, that was on a very small scale.
The party spokesperson also thanked the people of north Kashmir, especially the women, who played an important role in helping the party win by a huge margin.
He also thanked the youth, drivers, and others who voluntarily participated and helped the party from campaigning to casting votes to make Er Rashid the winner.
The party Spokesperson said that initially, they were not sure about the approval of the nomination form of their leader; however, it took them a lot of efforts, and they are thankful to all the supporters and the people who made them the winner.
He said that many people are keenly interested in joining AIP, and they also want to reach out to the people, so they are starting a membership drive online soon, and they also invite those who have so far been away from the political setup.
He said that with the support of the people, they can replace the bad name with good politics for the development, peace, and prosperity of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
While addressing maiden in Srinagar city, the AIP Spokesperson friend said that hope Er Rashid will given an opportunity to take part in an oath ceremony as a winning MP in the parliament.
